From the Date Family
For couples considering a wedding at Michinoku Wakon

Shrines are symbols of Japan's unique spiritual culture, and as the guardian deities of the people who live there, they protect the peace of the country and our daily lives together. In Sendai, there are many shrines that have been revered by the Date family since the feudal era, and successive heads of the family have served as the chief priests.
In the wedding ceremony at the shrine, we would like to look after the couple's new beginning and pray for their happiness.
Mr. Date Takamune , the 18th head of the Date family

Minekou Ikeda

People reach various milestones during their lifetime. These are called rites of passage. Among these, the wedding ceremony is the most glamorous, mysterious, and beautiful.
We hope that the traditional culture of Japan will continue through the renewal of mutual feelings of love and respect, and through beautiful manners.
Mr. Minekou Ikeda , instructor of manners of the Sendai clan

TRUST YOUR WAY
The future you believe in lies deep within the path ahead

I experienced the Great East Japan Earthquake.
The disaster made me realize that "what we take for granted now is not the norm.
And I felt the same thing again when the new coronavirus threatened my health and my relationships with people.
Many valuable things were lost in an instant due to the earthquake and corona.
After the loss, I realized once again what is truly necessary.
Even if lost, what is necessary will be revived by the will of people, and will be carefully spun with their thoughts and feelings.
I believe this is "culture" and "tradition.
I believe that no matter what the disaster, if people have feelings,
they will always be able to connect and leave something behind.

Japanese wedding ceremonies value the traditions and spirit of Japan.
When I first started as a planner, I looked at weddings from the perspective of the bride.
Now, I am happy to be able to observe weddings from the perspective of the parents.
It can be said that a wedding is the day when parents change their role from "nurturing" to "watching over" their children.
It is an important milestone day for parents to send off their children whom they have carefully nurtured.

The "daughter" whom you have loved and nurtured from your many happy childhoods becomes a beautiful bride wearing a white kimono.
The "Musuko" looks more dependable and dignified than usual.
When I see her read out her vows with dignity and dignity, I couldn't be prouder of her.
For the parents, it is a day filled with joy and sadness, a day of happiness...and a bit of sadness too!

It is only because of the existence of our parents and ancestors who gave us life that we are able to meet as we are today.
Modern weddings tend to focus on the wedding dress and reception in a commercial chapel.
We place emphasis on the only ceremony that is performed only for two people (wedding ceremony) in the rites of life, and we believe that the wedding ceremony is the most important part of the wedding ceremony.
We want to spend time to thank our parents and ancestors for our birth.
We want you to feel yourself to be able to say thank you to your friends who have always spent time with you and supported you.
I want you to feel that at the wedding ceremony.
The timing of "marriage" is the best time to say "thank you" honestly.

The shrine or temple where the couple chose to hold their wedding ceremony will become an important and memorable place for the family and guests in attendance.
The wedding will be a place that you can visit again and again to commemorate anniversaries, Hatsumode, prayers for a safe delivery, visits to the shrine, Shichigosan, and other milestone occasions.
It will be a place where you will always be able to weave a connection with each other.
Shrines and temples will never disappear.
Shrines and temples have always been there and will always be there, and they are places you can always visit.
We do not want the important place where the couple held their wedding ceremony to ever disappear, we want it to always be there!

Beautiful things in this world become dirty, chipped, and change over time.
We do not view this negatively as deterioration, but rather affirm the diverse beauty woven by change.
There is a word "Apology and Sabi," which means "not to see it as a negative deterioration, but to affirm the various beauties that are woven into the changes.
When they first got married, of course they were beautiful together. As time goes by, they laugh at each other, get wrinkles, and their bodies change.
We spend that much time together.
Through a Japanese wedding ceremony at a shrine or temple, we hope that you will learn to appreciate the beauty of these changes and use them as a benchmark for your own heart.
I hope that you will learn to appreciate the beauty of these changes through a Japanese wedding ceremony at a shrine or temple.

It is said that we meet or have some kind of contact with about 30,000 people in our lifetime.
I would like to thank you both from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to meet you in this way.
I hope that your wedding day will be a day of
I hope that your wedding day will be a time of happiness,
and may your wedding day be a time of happiness and gratitude...

Thank you for Michinoku Wakon!
